Mom's Household Notebook

Since my menu binder was done, I started on my Household Notebook.
I needed to make a new one for the upcoming new year.
This is the cover....
Starts with my own printed calendar....

Then contacts...medical/prescription info.....budget...etc......
Just the things that I use or need.
Pre-packaged hasn't worked for me in years.
Anyways, thought I would share this too.
Mike laughs at me, but then says "I'm so glad you've got it
all together".
(Everything I do goes into a binder!)

Monthly Menu Binder

Binder cover
My quantities to serve 100 people reference sheet LOL
Monthly Planner Week 1
Photo copied recipes
I've been working on something the last couple of nights......
thought I'd share.
It will probably be boring to most of you.
I'd had a weekly menu routine for quite some time now and
I thought I could make it work even better.
I would go to my recipe binder (made it a couple of years ago).
Make my menu, shop once a week and add fill-ins as needed
all week like... milk & bread and more milk & bread. Oh, I also do
what we call "BIG" shopping once a month for all the everyday
basics and some ridiculous amounts of cereal.LOL.
So I started out with a binder and made 52 copies of a weekly menu
planner. I will work on a month at a time.
(All my menu sheets and photo copies are in sheet protectors)
I went to my recipe binder, chose my 4 weeks of recipes.
So let me try to explain the binder layout....
January 3-9 week 1 Menu
Photo copies of my recipes follow
January 10-16 week 2 Menu
Photo copies of my recipes follow
etc...
Now once a week I look at my weekly menu and add my
needed ingredients to my grocery list because my recipes
are right there following my menu.
As I cook all week I don't have to go get all my recipes
out of different cook books and my binder.
So what do ya think???

Christmas Eve

Well it's about time I sit down to write something!
I have officially turned into my mother,
"Christmas is here?, but I'm not ready...I have too much left to do".LOL
We celebrated Mike's birthday on the 12 th, what a good boy
I have raised!
Kody was tested for autism.
He had testing and an evaluation done by a autism specialist.
He said he was one of four boys out of the last 3,000 he has
seen that has this type of autism.
This is no surprise, nothing about us is typical in any way, shape
or form.LOL. Oh, he is a great kid no matter what!
We have decorated inside and out. I need more pictures don't I?

We put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving, always have. We have gone
to town every night after dinner for a Christmas light tour.
Today is Christmas Eve ....the kids got to open Granny's presents
she sent. They have been waiting for days.
Mike and I exchanged gifts this morning(thank you for the
pearls Mikey).
Mike went to play golf today with his guy friends,
we started baking.....wait it's more like...I baked it and the kids ate it.
Well tomorrow is Christmas. We hope everyone has a wonderful day.
I know we will. I know of two people here(hint: me & Keegan)
that will suffer from post holiday depression. I guess Sunday I'll
start planning for next year.
Merry Christmas from all of us
to you!
